1.  gpedit.msc

     The Group Policy Editor in Windows XP
     Professional is a management
     console that provides convenient
     configuration of many system
     properties and for running scripts.



2.  msconfig

     The Windows System Configuration Utility (Msconfig) is a system tool
     that allows you to temporarily change the way Windows starts by
     disabling startup programs and services.

3.  dxdiag

     DxDiag ("DirectX Diagnostics") is a diagnostics tool used to test DirectX
     functionality and troubleshoot video- or sound-related hardware
     problems.

4.  regedit / regedt32.exe

     The Windows Registry is a hierarchical database that stores configuration
     settings and options on Microsoft Windows operating systems. It contains
     settings for low-level operating system components as well as the
     applications running on the platform: the kernel, device drivers, services,
     SAM, user interface and third party applications all make use of
     the Registry.

5.  secpol.msc
     This is a system tool that allows you to temporarily change privilege or
     system policy on Windows

6.   services.msc
      This utility shows you all the processing that goes on behind the OS and
      the things that are started automatically when the system boots.

7.   compmgmt.msc
      This utility allow you to manage your computer.
